Magpie Home & Interiors terms & conditions of sale have been designed to comply with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (DSRs) and the Electronic Commerce Regulations (ECRs).
Our terms & conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
When you place an order, we will require your name, e-mail address, postal address and contact telephone number. Without this information we will not be able to process your order or notify you of acceptance of your order.
We may, unless you advise us otherwise, pass this information to our couriers in case they need to contact you to arrange the delivery of your order.
A contract is concluded between the customer and Magpie Home & Interiors when payment has been received and the item dispatched, unless we unable to fulfill any obligations due to the following:
• Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment
• The identification of a pricing or product description error
• Customers who fail to reach any order criteria set out in the Terms & Conditions
If there are any problems with your order, we will contact you as soon as possible either by email or by phone.
We will confirm your order in writing (via email) which will include a copy of these terms of conditions in line with Regulation 8 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (DSRs) and the Electronic Commerce Regulations (ECRs).
We reserve the right to reject any offer of purchase by you at any time.
Cancelling your order
We understand that unlike buying from a shop, the first time that you will usually be able to examine goods purchased via our website is when you receive them.
Please note that you are entitled to cancel this contract if you so wish, provided you exercise your right no longer than 7 working days after the day on which you receive the products.
If you wish to exercise your right to cancel your order prior to dispatch, please contact us on email@example.com.
If your order has already been dispatched please follow the procedure set out in the returns and refunds section.
Product pricing, descriptions & images
All prices published are in pounds sterling. Each product is sold subject to its product description. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the Website are correct at the time they appear.
All our products for sale are genuine vintage items. Many of them have been well-loved and have all the ‘character’ that comes with age. The condition of our products reflects their age and any significant wear, knocks or markings will be highlighted in the product description.
The images shown online and in catalogues are for illustration purposes only. Many of our products are shown with additional props but these are not included in the sale of a product unless specifically specified.
We provide approximate dimensions for each piece of furniture in the product description, but the customer has sole responsibility for ensuring that the product can be easily delivered into their home and/or chosen room.
Please make sure you measure the chosen space for your item and any doorways or passageways that the item will need to be moved through. Consider staircases or any tight spaces used as access points. If you need to return an item of furniture, the original delivery charge will be deducted from any refund or exchange value.
Magpie Home & Interiors accepts payment via PayPal. If you don’t have
a PayPal account you can also use all major credit cards, via PayPal.
PayPal deliver one of the most secure payment platforms in the world. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 168-bits (the highest level commercially available).
Payment for all orders is at point of sale and not at point of dispatch. The total cost of your order is the price of the products ordered plus delivery.
All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
Withdrawal of products & service
We reserve the right to withdraw any products from this website at any time and/or remove or edit any materials or content on this website. We may refuse to process a transaction for any reason or refuse service to anyone at any time at our sole discretion. We will not be liable to you or any third party by reason of our withdrawing any product from this website whether or not that product has been sold.
To be eligible to purchase products on this website and lawfully enter into and form contracts on this website under English law you must:
• Register by providing your real name, phone number, e-mail address, payment details and other requested information
• Be over 18 years of age
• Stipulate a delivery address in the United Kingdom. Please note that PO box numbers, hotels and accommodation addresses are not acceptable
• Possess a valid credit or debit card issued by a bank
If you would rather collect large items direct from us, please contact us and we can arrange a mutually convenient time and we will refund or remove the delivery charge.
Postage prices quoted are for UK mainland delivery. We are always happy to
quote for posting overseas, please just email us for a quote.
Small items are posted within 3 working days of ordering, via Royal Mail recorded delivery or courier parcel post with insurance.
Large items are delivered by our couriers and prices for delivery are clearly stated alongside each item. We will contact you within 48hrs of your order to confirm a delivery date which will normally be within 30 days, unless agreed otherwise with the customer. If you require any specific delivery dates please contact us and we will do are best to accommodate them.
If you are unable to take delivery of your goods on the confirmed delivery
date, we reserve the right to charge you further for any subsequent deliveries.
If we are unable to delivery your order within 30 days (unless otherwise agreed with the customer) due to a fault on our part we will refund your money in full including all delivery costs. We will make this refund as quickly as possible and always within a maximum of 30 days.
In the unfortunate event of any of our items arriving damaged, please let us know within 48 hours. A picture of the broken/damaged item and the packaging it arrived in will be necessary in order to file an insurance claim and begin the refund process.
Returns and Refunds
We do our up most to describe and show all our vintage items as accurately as possible. Knowing that you are happy with your purchase makes us happy. But we realise that sometimes things just aren’t as you expected.
We want you to feel confident that when you shop with us you’re getting the product you want and will love for years to come. So we offer a 14-day no quibble returns policy.
All we ask is that you cover the cost of its return postage. Simply complete the returns form that is included with your order and enclose it with the items and post back to our registered address at the bottom of these terms & conditions.
We request that items be returned within 14 days of receipt. Please ensure all items are wrapped securely and we recommend that you use a registered and insured carrier and keep the receipt. The customer must take reasonable care to ensure that we receive the goods back and that they are not damaged in transit.
We will refund your payment as quickly as possible and always within a maximum of 30 days. We cannot be responsible for interest charges made by your credit card company whilst waiting for returns to be refunded to your card.
